12. Some recommended criteria for buiding Vietnam remote sensing development strategy based on remote sensing application development in the world during two main period
Abstract
Nowadays, many developed counfries have begun to move to information civilization stage. Developing countries have also been actively adopting new advances in science and technology, especially remote sensing technologies. This provides opportunities for promoting competitive advantages during industrialization and integration process. With achievements in space technology research and development, remote sensing technology has been highly developed and applied in many important socioeconomic activities such as basic investigation, natural resources exploitation and management, environmental monitoring and protection, natural disaster prevention and mitigation, defense and security. As a result, remote sensing technology has played an important role in the long-term development strategy of every country. This article reviewed some main applications from two remote sensing development stages in the world and proposed some criteria for remote sensing development in Vietnam.
