English vocabulary plays an important role in the process of language application. The study of comparative method and parallel structure in teaching English vocabulary for students of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment was conducted in 6 months with the method of synthetic analysis which listed a the number of contents for which the comparative method and the parallel structure are being applied, such as Case model comparison method, method of comparing synonyms and synonyms, the method of grouping words, the word structure is similar and synonym, compare homonyms with different meanings,... The research has confirmed the effectiveness through positive feedback, the ability to grasp and use fast vocabulary creates a learning motivation for students to be excited to learn and practice the language inside and outside the classroom.
