Abstract
The research aims to assess surface water quality for agricultural production in Gia Loc district, Hai Duong province. In this district, there are many lakes and natural and artificial ponds where water are stored and transported on the surface, contributing to climate regulation and raising animals and plants in the region. With such favorable conditions, the agricultural production in Gia Loc district has been developing well. However, in recent years, water sources for irrigation and aquaculture of the district are at risk of pollution, affecting the productivity and quality of agricultural products. This paper uses the method of sampling and analyzing water samples. Calculating the WQI index was then calculated to assess surface water quality for agricultural production in Gia Loc district. The results of calculating the WQI index after analyzing 28 water samples collected from 7 monitoring locations show that except point N3 at the drainage ditch of Dong Can vermicelli village, Tan Tien commune, the other samplingpoints are eligible to supply water for agricultural production.
