06. Converting RINEX version 2.11 to version 3.01
Abstract
For the purpose of data exchange of the global navigation satellite system and data processing using different softwares, the receiver independent exchange data file RINEX is standardized on ASCII by the international community, regardless of the type of receiver. Since its inception in 1990, RINEX has always been refined and developed. With RINEX versions 3.xx, the information of satellite navigation systems are more complete and visual than previous versions. To facilitate the use of data, all of GNSS receiver manufacturers designed software that converts the original measurement data into RINEX format. However, these softwares do not have the function of converting among RINEX versions. In some cases of GNSS data processing, RINEX version 2.xx should be transferred to version 3.xx to avoid confusion in the use of information. In this study, basic information in the structure of the file RINEX version 2.xx and 3.xx is presented. Besides, the data in format of RINEX version 2.11 will also be transferred to version 3.01 format. Research results will help users to have more tools in GNSS data processing.
